The very first film of A Doc / A Day is one that redefined the genre, broke records, achieved the unthinkable, was nominated for three Oscars and should have won them all in my humble opinion. Yes, that's right. It's FLEE. Metacritic's score indicates "universal acclaim" but in my opinion, "acclaim" doesn't even begin to cover it. This is a film that should be celebrated, sung praises of far and wide. The one and only Mr. Bong Joon Ho (director of PARASITE) proclaimed it was the best film he saw all year [2021]. A perfect combination of form, feeling, and content, FLEE tells the story of Amin, a young boy from Kabul, on his journey to find home, both within and outside himself.
